The art of storytelling is essential. It allows individuals to explore beyond immediate reality into a new magical world of beauty, art and creation. Stories give us the wings to reach places beyond the boundaries of our physical realm, into the land of fairies, dragons, and wishing trees.

To channelise this potential of grade 2 students, Apeejay School, Noida recently hosted ‘Spin-a-Yarn’ competition. At the event, students exuded confidence while narrating interesting and engaging stories. Choosing their favourite memory of visiting an amusement park, students narrated their tales with expressions and hand gestures.

Adding to the delight were their colorful props and imagery as they created their own world with it. The participants enraptured the audience with their vivid descriptions of an amusement park. The activity provided them a platform to further develop their communication skills, improve creative thinking, and enhance confidence. All in all, the competition was a unique learning experience for young learners as they performed on stage.

Ms. Shri Devi and Ms. Rashi Rawal, teachers of Apeejay Noida, judged the competition.

Mrs. Smriti Samuel, Primary In Charge,  applauded the young storytellers and reiterated the importance of these competitions.

Kashvi Srivastava and Vansh Agrawal bagged the first and second prize. The ‘Best in Class’ honour was given to students, Samarth Singh, Pathikrit Basu, Srihit Goyal, Diyaan Surana and Amyra Bassi.

“Imagination ignites the quest for creativity and propels us towards innovative endeavours.”
