Smt. Rajeshwari Paul birth anniversary: A day filled with art, music and culture

Apeejay schools in Faridabad pay a rich artistic tribute to the venerable first lady of the group

George Eliot wrote in her celebrated novel Middlemarch that the world survives solely due to the kind hearted humane acts of people. One such humanitarian soul was Smt. Rajeshwari Paul, the venerable ‘first lady’ of Apeejay Stya & Svran Group.

To commemorate her 98th birth anniversary, Apeejay schools in Faridabad organised special prayer meetings and paid a humble tribute to her life.

Mrs. Anita Yadav, Principal of Apeejay School, Faridabad, Sector 15, offered floral tribute in front of Smt Rajeshwari Paul’s picture. Teachers and students performed special prayers and sang bhajans during the occasion. Remembering the art and aesthetic sensibilities that were unique to Smt. Rajeshwari Paul ji, students also performed dance.

Further, Mrs. Yadav read out President Madam, Sushma Paul Berlia’s message on the occasion and urged the students to follow the path of humanity and demonstrate the values of kindness, hardwork and commitment that were exemplified by Smt. Rajeshwari Paul throughout her life.

An art exhibition was also organised in which the creative works of the students were displayed, providing them a unique opportunity to appreciate the power of creativity.

At the same time, Apeejay Svran Global School, Faridabad (Sector 21-D) commenced this special day with the chanting of Gayatri Mantra and seeking the blessings of the Almighty which was followed by lighting of  the lamp and a floral tribute to the beloved Smt. Rajeshwari Paul.

The school also organised a cultural show that began with a melodious rendition of school prayers and bhajans while creating a devotional environment. Ms. Priti Wason, Principal, shared about Smt. Rajeshwari Paul’s life journey with the students and teachers. Mrs. Purnima Vohra, Education Officer, also offered a floral tribute and shared anecdotes of her fond memories with Smt. Rajeshwari Paul. Amongst the school staff Mr. Imran, Ms. Archana and Ms. Suruchi also expressed their gratitude and emotions for the ‘first lady’.

During this occasion, Anshita Shree, a student, performed a beautiful solo dance. Students Jia and Anshika showcased a Kathak dance performance. Also, Aadya, a class 4 student was felicitated by the school for winning an appreciation certification from Just Dance Company. An art exhibition was also held in the school premises.

Further, Smita Amit, Principal of Apeejay School Faridabad, Sector 21 remembered the ‘first lady’ by paying a floral tribute and shared with the school staff about the very magnanimous nature of Smt. Rajeshwari Paul.

She said, “Smt. Rajeshwari Paul mam was a very noble soul. She would not let even a postman go without offering him some food and water. She was a beautiful artist herself and was also a great admirer of art and aesthetics. All must learn from her life and embody the values of kindness, humility and art.”
