Five-year-old Adira Jana, a kindergarten student at Apeejay School, Nerul, began learning classical dance formally only two months ago. Still, fuelled by her passion to dance and act, the child prodigy has made a mark at Mission Improvement Foundation’s (not-for-profit organisation) National-level ‘Online Dance and Fancy Dress Competition by securing the fourth position in the 3-6 age group.

Prior to this, she had been training under her mother, Ms. Mousumi Sanjib Jana, learning some steps and facial expressions on popular dance numbers regularly.

Motivated to practice till she gets her dance performance right, Adira has always been very enthusiastic about performing in school functions and events, says her mother. “This the first time she had participated at a National-level event and aced it. I am a proud mother who has seen my daughter grow at every step when it comes to performing on stage.”

Looking ahead, she wants young Adira to perform more regularly on the stage in order to build her confidence and skills.

“Apeejay School, Nerul believes in holistic and all-round development of children which can be achieved by promoting extra-curricular activities. I heartily congratulate Adira for her achievement. At a young age, she has already started on her journey to become an achiever. We are all very proud of her.”
