Each year, the cold wave in Delhi claims lives of thousands of underprivileged individuals. According to a news report, ‘In 2020, deaths from cold waves in proportion to that from heat waves were the highest in 20 years. Human deaths caused by the cold waves were 76 times more, recorded by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).’

Keeping in mind these statistics, the students of Apeejay School, International, (ASI) South Delhi have decided to ‘Share the Warmth’ this year. Under this initiative, the Diploma Programme (DP) students of the school have been advocating donation of unused clothes to the poor. Through the values of creativity, activity and service (CAS) which forms an essential component of their educational programme, students are working towards supporting the larger community. This initiative would provide opportunities to students to collaborate with one another and foster a sense of service and accomplishment.

To further the cause, the school is open to contribution. Any person can donate winter-wear, clothes, and essentials at the main gate of any Apeejay School branch in Delhi. These would be collected and further donated by Apeejay School International staff and students.

The drive will conclude in the second week of January 2022.

“After the success of last year’s campaign, DP students at ASI have once again initiated ‘Share the Warmth 2.0’. It is a CAS initiative to give back to the community and help those in need by donating warm clothes.”
