The renowned scientist and unparalleled genius, Albert Einstein once said, ‘Creativity is intelligence having fun’. With this ethos, Apeejay School, Noida organised a ‘Shape Mania’ competition for the students of class II.

The event was an embodiment of the school’s constant endeavour to provide students with diverse opportunities to build their confidence and explore their creative potential. The competition not only aimed to enhance students’ gross motor skills but also encouraged them to integrate art seamlessly with their knowledge of geometric shapes. Under the theme of ‘Nature’, young minds were tasked with crafting compositions through the cutouts of various shapes which allowed them to embark on a fun journey of knowledge and creativity.

This experiential learning activity reinforced their understanding of simple geometric figures and allowed them to perceive nature through an artistic lens. This boosted their confidence in the liveliest way possible. Young minds donned their thinking caps and gave wings to their creativity and imagination.

The panel of judges was undoubtedly impressed by the extraordinary talents of the little munchkins. The best three compositions were chosen from each section based on their use of shapes, creativity, patterns, and presentation skills. Farzan Hussain Abidi, from II-A, won the first prize while Savya Jain and Aashwee Minhas bagged the second and third positions respectively.

Similarly, Advika Jain, from II-B, was awarded the first position followed by Advik Aggarwal and Kavya Gupta who won the second and the third prizes, respectively. Arshi Gupta, Garvit Bansal, and Rhythm Malik stood out on the first, second and third positions from II-C.  Gaurang Vats, Ayansh Ahluwalia, and Parishi Vaish were the top three winners of class II-D. From section II-E Tanishka Thapa secured the first position followed by Vanshya Sharma, and Rajeshwari Singh for the second and third spots, respectively.

The competition was indeed a dynamic compilation of art and intelligence that justified Apeejay’s vision for a remarkable future and also assembled some of the most delightful memories for the children that can be cherished for life.
