Scholar-Journalist of the Week: Importance of life goals

A class 6 student at Apeejay School, Model Town in Jalandhar, Aadvik Behl, is a passionate learner. Subjects like English and Mathematics are among his favourite. He is also a sportsperson who plays basketball, football, badminton and lawn tennis. In the following interview, the student shares more about himself. Read on.

How did you develop an interest in writing? 

I have been at it for many years. If you give me a topic, I can write about it in a jiffy.

Are you an avid reader?

Yes. I have read many books. ‘The Secret Seven’ by Enid Blyton is my favourite and that’s also the last book I read. In that, a group of seven adolescent detectives take on tasks and accomplish them. I found it to be very interesting!

Does your routine include many extra-curriculars?

Yes. During the day, I attend school, study and play some sports. During exam time, I have to cut down on the extra-curriculars for a few days, and then I resume them after the exams. 

Do you like to take up any social initiatives?

Definitely. On my birthdays and other special occasions, I distribute food to the lesser privileged. I also like to participate in community-based drives.

Tell us more about the write-up: Importance of life goals. What was your inspiration for it?

I feel that one must have some set goals in life. These can keep changing or evolving throughout but having them is most crucial. Why? Because they motivate us and help us stay focused.

Some basic ethics you swear by?

·        Having a set routine

·        Being punctual

Any writing tips for your classmates?

Practice grammar. Read as much as you can and try to write something every day. Learn new words and use them in your work.
