Meet Anish Badarinath, a multi-talented individual whose life revolves around his two great passions: badminton and writing. Hailing from Mumbai, Anish has managed to carve a name for himself in the world of sports, particularly as an ace badminton player, garnering admiration for his skills on the court. But his talents extend far beyond the sports arena. 

With a flair for words, Anish is also an accomplished writer, captivating readers with his literary prowess. Beyond his sporty persona and literary finesse, his interests transcend to the skies, as he harbours an unwavering passion for aeronautical engineering. With such a diverse range of talents and an unstoppable drive for excellence, Anish stands as an inspiring figure, destined for greatness in whichever path he chooses to tread. He is a class 10 student at Apeejay School, Nerul in Navi Mumbai. Read on to know more about him. Edited excerpts from the interview.

Tell us about your interests and hobbies. 

I like to play sports like badminton, cricket, volleyball and basketball. Besides, I sing too.

Are you an avid reader / consistent writer? If so, what are the themes you like to read and write on? What authors interest you? 

I am not a regular reader or writer but I love knowing more about Marvel and its characters.

What is your process of writing: Badminton: A fun and indoor game for all? Why did you pick this topic?

Badminton interests me a lot as I’ve been playing the sport for the last 7-8 years. So, it took me just an hour to write on this topic.

Any special memory / experience associated with the game? Are you hoping to play it professionally? 

Yes. I have even received trophies from prominent sports persons like Sachin Tendulkar and Prakash Padukone in a tournament held at DY Patil Sports Stadium in Nerul, Mumbai. I have earned many winning and runner-up trophies as a part of my achievements. Once I also had the privilege to be a Line Judge at Badminton National Tournament held in Navi Mumbai, year of 2022.

Do you have any writing tips for your classmates?

This was my first attempt at writing an article. I am still trying to excel in it.

Your career goal?

I hope to become an Aeronautical Engineer due to my fondness for aero planes.
