Reyvika Shukla of Apeejay School International, Greater Noida, wins Best First Timer Title at MUN’21

In an event organised by the World Trade Organization Committee, Reyvika Shukla, a class 12 student of Apeejay School International, Greater Noida, won the Best First Timer Title among 20 participates of the IPN Concord International Model United Nations (MUN), 2021, which was conducted virtually.
Shukla received this recognition for her research and factual arguments presented as a delegate on behalf of Syria at the event. A first-time participant at MUN, she voiced how the intellectual property rights (IPR) for the production and distribution of Covid-19 vaccination are inaccessible to a country like Syria, as it looks at superpowers such as the United States of America (USA), United Kingdom (UK) and other developing nations including India for vaccine support. “I was residing in Saudi Arabia till class 10, after which my family shifted to India. I used to participate in debate competitions earlier and have been keen to understand how to present better solutions to issues pertaining to global importance with diplomacy. In my free time, I like to read spy-books, and experiential stories,” she says.

“Students need to explore the unchartered horizons and I think that was one step that two students, Reyvika and Nishant, took by representing the school at an international event. It was a last-minute entry, and both the students worked hard for it. I am very proud of them.”
