Punjabi film director, lead actors share their experience of working hard in the industry

Apeejay College of Fine Arts alumnus Amit Parashar visits his alma mater with lead actors to promote his film and interact with the students.

Director Amit Parashar, lead actors Harish Verma and Sweetaj Brar, and Producer Dheeraj Arora recently visited Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, for the promotion of their Punjabi film ‘Tere Layi’, that released in theaters this month.

On this occasion, the director of the film, who is also an alumnus of ACFA, while addressing the students said, “Today I have reached this stage with continuous hard work and I am sure the students of this college will keep bringing laurels to the college in different fields by kissing heights in the coming times too.”

Further, Mr. Harish Verma said, “Our hard work gets successful only when the film gets a good audience”. Meanwhile, Ms. Sweetaj Brar, lead actress in the film said, “I not only hope but have full faith that our film will receive all the love and support from the Apeejay family.”

Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal at ACFA, congratulated the entire cast of the film. She said, “I am feeling immensely proud to know that the director of this film is an alumnus of our college and Kamal Arora, son of producer Dheeraj Arora has also been our student.”

She further added, “Today Punjabi theatre needs a good audience who can respect the hard-work. The filmmakers are working day and night, contributing in the Punjabi film industry  while presenting a special identity of the same at the national level.”

Dr. Dhingra expressed her gratitude to the entire cast of the newly-launched film “Tere Layi” and wished them all the best for the immense success for their film. Lastly, she appreciated the efforts of Dr. Manisha Sharma, Dean of Functions, for successfully organising this  programme.

When asked about her experience, Naina Jaggi, a first-year BAJMC student said, “My experience with the Tere Layi cast was incredible. Loved their way of conversing with students and their simplicity. They co-operated with the journalism department and answered all our questions without any hesitation. Loved their friendly nature and the atmosphere they created by visiting our college.”

Another student, Moksh Kochhar of BAJMC said, “It was great to meet Harish Verma and Sweetaj Brar during the promotion of their film Tere Layi at our college. I will definitely go to watch their movie”
