Leadership is a quality that must be developed in students from an early age. It will transform students to become effective doers and impactful decision makers. This shall also enable them to run the nation as responsible citizens in the near future.

Therefore, Apeejay School, Pitampura is always committed to the task of nation-making through man-making. To further its efforts, the school recently organised an investiture ceremony and initiated students into a life of service and duty. In a poignant investiture ceremony, the freshly elected Parliamentarians took oath.

The school is aware that the human mind learns more by example and so, Mr Varun Singhal, Assistant Commissioner with the Indian Revenue Service and proud alumnus of the school was invited over to preside as the Chief Guest of the ceremony. Mr. Singhal very enthusiastically spoke to the newly elected office bearers and shared his journey in school narrating some interesting anecdotes from his student days. He further reiterated the power of self-belief as he reminded the student council to believe in themselves and march ahead with a sense of honesty towards their duty.

Mrs. Veena Goel, Principal of the school, blessed the student council and encouraged them to remain focused towards their goal and not be deterred by any external forces.

Speaking at the ceremony, newly-elected Head Boy and class 12 student Aditya Sharma said, “I am so happy and extremely honoured to become the Head Boy of the school. We are planning to organise the school’s first offline Model United Nations conference very soon. I am the head of the organising committee and I am looking forward to doing a good job. I wish to make the school the best MUN organiser in the state.”

He also added, “Principal and Vice Principal ma’am encourage me a lot. They pushed me further to organise the MUN and I am truly grateful to the school for its relentless support.”

“Good leaders do not always solve problems themselves but give confidence to others that there is solution to every problem “
