Continuing the patriotic fervour from the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, organised a dance programme for the pre-primary wing students. The little ones did not perform alone; their mothers matched their dance steps to patriotic-themed songs.

The participants, who wore tricolour costumes, enthralled the audience with their elegant moves while igniting in them the spirit of nationalism.

“It was a campaign to honour the history, culture, and accomplishments of Indians. This theme showcases the initiatives that were motivated by the ideas that have so far formed our nation. Kindergarten kids performed on stage with their mothers to further enhance and make this event memorable,” explained pre-primary teacher Sanyukta Jyoti, who organised the event with her colleagues.

Megha Malhotra, who presented a wonderful performance with her son Ruhaan, a student of lower KG, said, “My son’s teacher motivated us. I wanted to make Ruhaan the main character of the performance, so I looked up some patriotic songs on YouTube, merged them and choreographed the act accordingly.”

Added Ameeta Dilbaghi who danced with her daughter Janhavi, also in lower KG, “I picked up the choreography from YouTube. It was my first-ever stage performance. I had a great time preparing and performing in front of an audience. It gave me a lot of confidence and I hope the school continues to organise such events. I would love to perform again!” The duo performed on the Bollywood number “I love my India”.

Earlier, the primary-wing students celebrated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav by designing tricolour rakhis for the Indian Army as a token of gratitude. Middle school students also participated in a ‘Tiranga yatra’ and were accompanied by parents, senior NCC Cadets and teachers.
