There are many ways to honour the memory of a great person. However the best way without a doubt, is to practice the values they lived by all their life. Smt Rajeshwari Paul, the first lady of the Apeejay Education, was a visionary, loved art and stood throughout her life in support of education via co-curricular activities. The students of Apeejay Schools in Delhi-NCR did exactly the same as they participated enthusiastically in the 9th Edition of the Smt Rajeshwari Paul Memorial Inter Apeejay Tennis Tournament that was held recently.

The tournament was hosted by Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park with delight. The other participating schools were: Apeejay School, Noida, Apeejay school, Saket and the two Apeejay schools in Faridabad – Sector 15 and Sector 21-D.

The tournament was inaugurated by the principal of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park. It was a picturesque moment as students applauded their principal who held the racquet confidently and played a decent shot while standing on the other side of the Net.

The tournament was organised with an aim of honing the physical development abilities of students and also give budding players a platform to showcase their talent with the racquet in the tennis court.

Mr N.N. Nayyar, Senior Education Officer, Apeejay Education was the special guest at the tournament. He congratulated all the young participating players. Speaking at the occasion, he reaffirmed the role of sports in a student’s life and encouraged all students to enhance their sporting skills in at least one sport of their choice. Sports is one of the best teachers one can have; for it prepares us to be resilient in every situation of life, he opined.

Apeejay School, Noida bagged the first position in the boys category while Apeejay School, Faridabad, Sector 15 emerged as the winner in the girls category. The position holders were awarded with the certificates, medals and the coveted trophy while all participating students were given participation certificates.

The tournament was a great success as it helped increase the love for sports among students and became a stepping stone towards a fit nation filled with healthy students.
