Indian women are increasingly venturing abroad to pursue higher education, with a significant surge in the number of applicants heading to destinations like the United States, United Kingdom, and various parts of Europe. This trend is not limited to metropolitan cities but is also observed in smaller towns.

According to foreign education consultants and student loan providers, there has been a remarkable increase of 100-150% in the number of women applicants for studying abroad in 2022 compared to the pre-pandemic year of 2019. This upward trend is expected to continue in the future, indicating a growing interest among Indian women to explore educational opportunities overseas.

The findings were reported by The Economic Times. According to it, foreign education consultants and student loan providers have also stated that the male-female student ratio among applicants seeking admission abroad improved to 50:50 in metro cities in 2022, from 70:30 in 2019.
