Noida school celebrates 24th Kargil Victory Day with patriotic fervour

To honour the valour and sacrifice of the martyrs of the Army who triumphed in the Kargil War, the students of the Interact Club of Apeejay School, Noida recently organised a special event. The poignant ceremony aimed to instill a deep sense of patriotism in the hearts of the audience.

The event commenced with a reverent homage to the divine, as an auspicious lamp was lit, symbolising peace and spiritual enlightenment. The gathering was privileged to have Col Kashyap, a distinguished Shaurya Chakra Awardee, from the 21st Battalion, Special Forces of the Parachute Regiment, as the esteemed chief guest. 

The proceedings of the event were set in motion by Rakshita Mishra, who delivered a motivational talk that ignited a renewed love for the motherland among the students. This was followed by a thought-provoking poem, which was recited to a hushed audience, creating a solemn ambiance. A soul-stirring patriotic group song further heightened the emotions of the gathering, and the performance of the young participants in the nukkad-natak left the audience spellbound.

A poignant video presentation shed light on the historical significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas, portraying the price India paid for victory over Pakistan. The display emphasised the importance of this day in the collective memory of the nation, highlighting the spirit of the armed forces.

Col Kashyap, a veteran of the Kargil War, shared insightful anecdotes and intriguing facts, underscoring the indomitable courage and valour of the forces. His words resonated deeply with the audience, filling the auditorium with a palpable sense of pride.

In her address, Ms Ritu Kohli, Principal of Apeejay School, Noida, commended the efforts of the students of Interact Club for orchestrating such a meaningful event. She reiterated the immeasurable contribution of the Army and its role in safeguarding the sovereignty of the nation.

The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, expressed to convey gratitude for the esteemed presence of Col Kashyap and for the participants’ dedicated efforts. As the audience dispersed, they carried with them a renewed sense of patriotism and appreciation for the sacrifices that secured India’s triumph in the Kargil War.
