New education policy connects education system to basic thinking: Shah

On August 13, 2023, Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted that the New Education Policy 2020 (NEP) aligns the education system with fundamental Indian ideologies. He made these remarks during his presence as the Chief Guest at the sixth convocation of the Indian Institute of Teacher Training (IITE) in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

“The New Education Policy brings about a transformation in India’s educational framework by aligning it with core Indian values, facilitating the integration of contemporary knowledge across the nation. Shah stated that the convergence of timeless pedagogical traditions and modern educational approaches has given rise to this innovative policy, emphasising its uniqueness.

He went on to underline that the NEP 2020, crafted under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, exemplifies numerous novel initiatives. It stands as an unparalleled blueprint that seamlessly incorporates the facets of modern learning while upholding the essence of ancient educational heritage.

Shah further expressed confidence that this policy will propel our students to achieve global excellence and lead them to the forefront of academic advancement.”
