Shivender Deswal is a class 12 student at Apeejay School, Faridabad, Sector-15. He is an Arts student and aspires to become a civil servant one day. Speaking with his father in a quick interview, we learn about Shivender’s passion for chasing his dreams and other interests in life.

Read edited excerpts:

Choosing Arts is considered a downgrade these times. What inspired your son for the same?

My son aspires to be a civil servant. He does not want to go along with the tide where everyone is pursuing engineering or medical sciences. He has the strength to take his own decision and pursue his ambition without being influenced by others.

Does he have any interest in sports or extracurriculars?

He loves to play football and is a good midfielder. He also loves to cycle. Among the extra-curriculars he likes painting the most.

And how are the teachers teaching? Are they making education fun for him?

Certainly. I think his class teacher Sheena Ahuja madam is very good. Even his Geography teacher Shilpa Maitra ma’am teaches so really well. All the teachers are doing a great job though.

We hope the school is supporting the class 12 board students?

Yes. They are encouraging them and preparing them well for the board exams. I am satisfied with the school and the way they are focusing on each and every student.
