‘My son is a scholar badge achiever since the past four years’

Kushagra Mehtani is a Class 10 student at Apeejay School, Faridabad, Sector-15. He is a scholar badge achiever and has been winning the award for the last four years in a row.  In a quick conversation with his father Mr Rajesh Mehtani, we learn insights about Kushagra’s performance at school, likes and dislikes in subjects and interests in sports as well as extracurriculars. Read edited excerpts: 

How is Kushagra doing at school?

Well, he is doing very well in school. He has been a part of the Apeejay family since his time at Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld. He has been here since Nursery and has made a good bond with everyone at the school. He has many friends here and enjoys a lot in class. 

Which subjects does he enjoy the most?

He enjoys Math the most. He has a logical and analytical bent of mind, so this informs his liking. 

And which subject does he find boring?

I think he is facing a little bit of a problem in science, chemistry in particular. But  I am sure that he will improve very soon.

What about his extra-curricular interests?

Kushagra loves swimming. He is also learning lawn tennis in school. These two sports are his absolute favourite. He also takes part in class assemblies frequently.

Are the teachers using any new learning techniques?

The teachers are really nice. My son is a scholar badge achiever. He got this award in classes 6, 7, 8 and 9 i.e. four times in a row.  As a student he is known for academic excellence over the years. 

However, there has been a slight dip in his performance in class 10, which is natural and happens in adolescence. But the teachers were so supportive and Principal Anita ma’am even met my son and encouraged him. She told him that the school believes in him and supported him to take his academic graph upwards. Class teacher Manisha ma’am has also been a pillar of support and has motivated Kushagra many times.
