Mamta’s son Kavyansh Purang, who is studying in class 9 at Apeejay School, Rama Mandi, is an all-rounder. Besides academics, he plays football and badminton and takes part in various co-curricular activities at school. In an interview, the mother talks about how Apeejay teachers helped turn her shy son into a confident teenager. Edited excerpts:

What made you think Apeejay Rama Mandi would be the right choice for your son?

We had heard positive reviews about the school. Kavyansh’s elder sisters have also completed their schooling at Apeejay Rama Mandi. The school provides good infrastructural facilities; the teachers are very good. The school also promotes a lot of co-curricular activities like sports. So, we enrolled Kavyansh in the school in class 1.

What has the overall experience been like?

Not just the teachers, even the principal, and other staff members are friendly and cooperative. We have regular parent-teacher meetings where they give useful feedback.

Would you say that the classes are kept interesting for the students?

Be it offline or online, the classes are curated in the most interesting way possible to keep students engaged. Apeejay’s activity-based learning approach is quite effective.

What improvements have you seen in Kavyansh over the years?

Kavyansh did not like studying Mathematics initially. The teachers helped him a lot to understand concepts clearly which gradually developed his interest in the subject. They have been there to support and encourage him throughout his journey.

Earlier, my son used to be underconfident and shy. His personality has developed a lot over the years and now he is quite friendly and communicates without any hesitation. It is the school and the teachers that have motivated such change in him.

Does he participate in extra-curricular activities?

Kavyansh is not just good in academics, but he also actively participates in football and badminton tournaments, and dance, among other co-curricular activities.
