It is widely recognised that the school environment significantly influences a child’s development. A nurturing school fosters a positive and supportive atmosphere, igniting a passion for learning and promoting personal growth. An ideal school strikes a balance between academics and extracurricular activities, encouraging holistic development by allowing children to explore their interests and talents beyond the classroom.

Apeejay School, Noida, resonated with parents like Bharti and her husband Amit Bansal. Their elder daughter who graduated from this school (batch 2022) made it easy for them to choose the right school for their second daughter.

In a candid interview, the mother, a content manager, discusses the one that stands out for her about this school.

What aspects of this school attracted you when you visited the campus?

When my husband and I visited the campus for the first time, the open and airy school infrastructure stood out to us. The pre-primary department particularly caught my attention — it was very kid-friendly with no sharp corners or steps, and the design was open and hexagonal. It felt safe and welcoming, which is very important when you’re enrolling a four-year-old.

I appreciated that the nursery classes are on the ground floor, unlike many other schools where young children need to climb stairs. Another factor was our elder daughter, who was already studying at Apeejay and performing well academically, which influenced our decision to admit Natalya as well.

Can you tell us about your elder daughter?

My elder daughter’s name is Navya Agarwal. She passed out in 2022 and is at present pursuing an MBBS degree from Bengaluru; she is in her second year. She joined Apeejay School, Noida, in class II. My younger daughter, Natalya, has been with the school since nursery. She is currently in class VII.

How are the school and its teachers supporting Natalya’s overall growth?

The school and teachers are nurturing Natalia emotionally, creatively, socially, and academically. She was the Head Girl in the primary department and is now the Vice-head Girl in class VII. She has also been part of the prefectural board and has been nominated for the Dr Stya Paul Award multiple times.

She actively participates in activities like dance and oration, which have boosted her confidence and creativity.

Changes in Natalya since joining the school.

Natalia has become more responsible and socially aware. For instance, she often raises her voice against social wrongs, like when someone breaks a queue. These values of responsibility and respect are being cultivated by the school, and we as parents truly appreciate that. The school also emphasises human values, which are extremely important to us. While academic achievements are great, we believe being a socially responsible and good human being is even more important, and the school reflects this in its approach.

What differences do you notice in your daughters compared to other children?

Both my daughters display a strong sense of responsibility and ownership. They never want to miss a single day of school, which is great. When I compare Natalya with children from other schools, I find her more responsible and independent. She takes ownership of her actions and has a strong sense of maturity.

If you had to choose one thing that stands out about Apeejay School, Noida, what would it be?

The openness and transparency of the teachers and principal stand out the most. The teachers treat the children as their own and are always approachable. During PTMs, they provide honest and constructive feedback, which helps us understand our children better. The school ensures a nurturing environment where children feel valued, respected, and eager to grow. This openness and care make Apeejay School truly special.
