Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, believes in nurturing every child’s potential by providing a holistic environment for learning and growth. We spoke with the mother of Akshit Jain, a talented student in Class 10. Mrs. Jain shared her experiences and insights about why she chose Apeejay for her son and how the school has significantly impacted his academic and personal development.

Read edited excerpts:

Why did you choose Apeejay School for Akshit?
Akshit was in another school until the 7th grade. I wanted a school that offered more activities and exposure to bring out his talents. When we first visited Apeejay, he was motivated by the achievements displayed on the board. He told me, “Mom, I want to see my picture here.” That motivation, combined with the competitive and encouraging atmosphere at Apeejay, has helped him excel. Within three months, his picture was on that board due to his achievements in a science project.

Can you tell us more about the science project Akshit worked on?
Akshit created a project, a special shoe for the visually impaired that alerts the wearer to obstacles. This project won him a prize and he represented the school in an exhibition in Ludhiana. His interest in science and technology is profound; he loves assembling things and even made a stylus at home using simple materials. The school provided excellent guidance and a platform for his talents.

How did Apeejay School cater to Akshit’s unique talents?
The school gave him numerous opportunities to showcase his skills. For instance, he was able to set up a stall to present his project, which was a proud moment for us. The supportive environment and the encouragement from teachers have significantly boosted his confidence and helped him move ahead.

How does Akshit like the school environment and teachers?
He enjoys the school environment a lot. The teachers, especially in science, are excellent and very supportive. He feels content and motivated in most subjects, although there are a few areas where he feels less so. But overall, he is very happy and engaged.

How has the school environment affected Akshit’s personality?
The diverse and interactive school environment has helped Akshit understand people better and learn important social skills. He has learned to balance successes and failures and deal with competition healthily. These are essential life lessons that he is grasping well.

What are your thoughts on how the school supports mental and physical health?
The healthy competitive environment at Apeejay ensures that students learn to handle both successes and failures gracefully. Physically, the school encourages team spirit and playtime, which is great for their overall development.

What future do you see for Akshit in terms of academics and personal growth?
Akshit is inclined towards science and technology, and we are almost certain he will opt for a non-medical stream. He is very disciplined, hardworking, and has a great capacity for patience and tolerance. With the right guidance and motivation, he is ready to give his best.

Do you think Akshit’s good behaviour is influenced by Apeejay?
Akshit’s good nature has been with him since the beginning, but Apeejay has helped him navigate and handle the world around him positively. The school’s nurturing environment has ensured that his positive traits are not negatively impacted by external factors.
