Music, movement and magical moments at Symphony & Smiles

Music echoed through every corner, laughter filled the air, and little feet danced with boundless joy as Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, GK-II, hosted its much-awaited Symphony & Smiles: A Celebration of Music, Movement and Togetherness. More than just an event, it was a heartwarming celebration of learning through music, movement, imagination, and meaningful family bonding.

The school campus was transformed into a vibrant wonderland. Beautiful castle-inspired décor, colourful props, and enchanting installations immediately captivated children and parents alike, setting the perfect tone for an unforgettable musical journey.

The programme commenced at 10:30 am with an energetic welcome by anchor Ms Rabia, whose lively presence kept the audience engaged throughout. The event was graced by the eloquent presence of School Head, Ms Komal Nathani, who warmly welcomed families and shared inspiring words about the importance of joyful learning experiences that nurture confidence, creativity, and emotional well-being in young children.

Speaking at the occassion, Ms Nathani said, “Today, we celebrate something that comes naturally to every child, music, movement, joy, and self-expression. At Windows, we believe that learning extends far beyond books, desks, and classrooms. Children learn best when they sing, dance, move, explore, listen, create, and express themselves freely. Music and movement offer them a joyful pathway to develop rhythm, coordination, confidence, creativity, imagination, and the ability to connect with others.”

When a child claps to a beat, sways to a melody, jumps with excitement, or creates a rhythm of their own, they are learning in the happiest and most meaningful way, she shared. “In those moments, their bodies, minds, and emotions grow together in harmony. Today, we invite each one of you to become a part of this celebration. Let us sing together, move together, create music together, and most importantly, enjoy these precious moments together.

“Dear parents, your presence makes this occasion even more meaningful. By participating alongside your children, you are not simply joining an activity, you are creating cherished memories that will stay with them for a lifetime. I would also like to express my heartfelt appreciation to our passionate and dedicated teachers, whose creativity and commitment have made this beautiful experience possible. And to our little stars, today is your day to dance, sing, explore, laugh, and shine. Enjoy every moment and let your happiness light up this celebration. As we come together today, let us celebrate not only music and movement but also the magic of childhood and the joy of learning through play. Then the celebration began on a cheerful note as the teachers took centre stage with an infectious performance of the Hello song, instantly filling the venue with enthusiasm. The energy only grew stronger during the interactive What’s Your Name? session, where children confidently stepped forward, introduced themselves, and enthusiastically interacted with their teachers. The activity beautifully encouraged self-expression while helping young learners overcome their initial hesitation.

A series of thoughtfully designed musical experiences followed, seamlessly blending rhythm, movement, storytelling, and sensory exploration. Through engaging songs and actions, children identified different body parts while performing coordinated movements, turning learning into an exciting game. Colourful scarves soon filled the air as students, parents, and teachers danced together, creating a delightful atmosphere of togetherness.

Children happily sang along to playful songs like Popcorn Kernels and Riding on a Bicycle, moving energetically with every beat. One of the most imaginative segments transported everyone into a lively jungle adventure, where expressive storytelling, animated voices, and creative props transformed the stage into a magical forest. Parents, grandparents, teachers, and children enthusiastically joined in lively head-to-toe movement activities, making it a truly inclusive celebration.

Adding another layer of excitement, families brought simple household props from home, including steel plates, spoons, and glasses. What appeared to be everyday objects soon became musical instruments as teachers created rhythmic patterns that children eagerly listened to, remembered, and recreated. The engaging exercise not only sharpened memory and listening skills but also promoted cognitive development, concentration, and rhythm recognition in a fun and interactive manner.

A touching highlights of the day was the remarkable warmth and comfort shared between teachers and children. Every child was gently encouraged to participate at their own pace, creating a safe and nurturing environment where confidence blossomed naturally.

The adorable Butterfly Song spread smiles across every face, while Riding on My Horse became a memorable bonding activity as children happily sat on their teachers’ laps, enjoying every movement with complete trust and delight. Equally exciting was The Ocean Jam, where little learners pretended to dive deep into the sea to meet colourful fishes through energetic music and expressive actions.

Popular favourites such as Clap Your Hands and Dingle Dangle Scarecrow had everyone singing and dancing together. Another delightful moment unfolded during Wake Up Bunnies, where children first rested peacefully on soft mats before joyfully hopping up like playful little bunnies as the song directed, filling the venue with laughter and excitement.

The much-awaited Parachute of Possibilities brought the celebration to a spectacular high. Teachers held a giant colourful parachute overhead while children danced, laughed, and played beneath it, creating a magical visual that symbolised unity, safety, and shared happiness. Towards the end of the celebration, children confidently walked onto the stage to sing their favourite nursery rhymes, including Johnny Johnny Yes Papa, Baa Baa Black Sheep, and Rain Rain Go Away. The spontaneous performances beautifully reflected the confidence they had developed throughout the event while helping them gradually overcome stage fear.

Throughout the morning, families immersed themselves in a series of specially curated musical experiences including Head to Toe Harmony, Rhythm & Rhyme Circle, Twirl, Tap & Tango, Parachute of Possibilities, Little Maestro Percussion Parade, and the exhilarating finale, The Grand Symphony Jam. Every activity seamlessly combined music, movement, imagination, collaborative play, and parent-child interaction, reinforcing the school’s belief that joyful experiences become the strongest foundation for lifelong learning.

Adding a grand musical finale was acclaimed singer-songwriter Rishi Shridhar, frontman of the renowned live band Unplugged Saints. Known for his collaborations with Bollywood music director Pritam and for achieving a remarkable 72-hour live singing world record, he mesmerised the audience with an electrifying performance. Beginning with a multilingual rendition of Hello, he instantly connected with the children before performing several iconic songs.

He also invited parents onto the stage, transforming the performance into a joyful celebration where hidden talents came to the forefront. Doctors, content writers, and professionals from diverse fields delighted everyone with their passion for singing, proving that music truly brings people together.

Parents expressed immense appreciation for the initiative. “It was an exceptionally wonderful day. Every moment was lovable and enjoyable. It is a fantastic initiative by Apeejay Rhythms,” shared Ms Aparana, mother of Sreeti. Echoing the sentiment, Mrs Tina, mother of Aaryaveer Oberoi, remarked, “It was a wonderful show. My son loved every ounce of it. We absolutely loved the energy throughout the event.”

The celebration concluded with the National Anthem, resounding applause, radiant smiles, and hearts full of cherished memories.
