Members of student council pledge to lead by example in this Noida school

The new student leaders were officially appointed at an investiture ceremony

Apeejay School, Noida, formally appointed its prefectorial board for the academic year in a grand investiture ceremony. The school believes in inculcating a sense of responsibility and duty among its students and the ceremony was a testament to the reliance and confidence that the school has in its new office bearers.

The ceremony was held to pass the baton to the appointed leaders in the primary, middle as well as senior departments. The members of the student council, who were chosen after a rigorous process of interviews and nominations, were invested with new responsibilities on this day.

The auspicious event began with the morning prayer. Comperes Prachi Pande and Lakshay Sharm invited Apeejay’s education director Ritu Kohli, principal AK Sharma, vice-principal Amrita Hajela, and primary in-charge Smriti Samuel to pin the badges on the head boy, head girl, vice-head boy, vice-head girl, sports captain boys and girls and school prefects. They were also given sashes.

The Oath of Office was thereafter administered by the principal. The members of the prefectorial board pledged to preserve, protect, and defend the rules and regulations of the school, uphold its dignity, and honour, and imbibe the true spirit of the school motto ‘Soaring High is my Nature’.

Addressing the student council, the principal urged them to embrace duties with humility, honesty, truthfulness, and integrity. He advised them to lead by example. He also extended his heartfelt congratulations to the torchbearers and wished them luck for the future.

The newly appointed head boy and head girl in their acceptance speech resolved to take their school to soaring heights. They pledged to guide their peers and juniors.

The programme culminated with a mesmerising Odissi dance performance by the students.
