Entering college marks the beginning of new experiences for students on their way to adulthood. Embarking on a new academic journey, the students of Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC) celebrated their first day of college with great enthusiasm.

In an engaging Orientation programme, AIMC gave the students a glimpse of what their PGD & PGDM journey ahead would be like. Adding to the learners’ excitement, the institute further introduced them to some industry professionals who shared their valuable experiences. Among them were Dr Annurag Batra, chairman and editor-in-chief, BW Businessworld, and founder, Exchange4Media, who talked about the core professional values that helped him achieve success as an entrepreneur. He also spoke about the various lucrative opportunities that the media offers.

‘Technical Guruji’ Mr Gaurav Chaudhary, a well-known tech YouTuber, conducted the second session. He shared insights on the role of social media influencers, who have become all the rage today. He went on to conduct a Q&A session with the attendees, encouraging students to clear their doubts and learn in the process.

Mr Sam Rufus, founder director & learning Person-creativity & innovation, Enriching People in Creativity (EPIC), delivered a thought-provoking session on the idea of creativity in the advertising industry through a PowerPoint presentation and related videos.

“I can confidently say that I am content and proud to have joined AIMC. It takes a lot to put your faith into an institution, but with this grand beginning, I can only imagine how grand it is going to be in the coming year. It is not just me who is excited for the journey ahead, my batchmates also had an amazing experience at the Orientation ceremony,” said Lakshita Kandpal, student of PGD Corporate Communications & Events Management.

Gowher, a student of PGD of Television & Radio Journalism/Production, was naturally skeptical about adapting to a completely new environment. However, she was “enthralled” with the way the students were greeted at the campus. “The whole environment was very captivating, and I could envision my bright future under the visionary leaders of the esteemed Institute. I am grateful to be a part of Apeejay,” the student said.

Added Punya, PGD Mass Communication, “The Orientation was excellent. I am really excited about all that I will learn at AIMC.”

Core faculty members Professor Sajal Mukherjee, Director, AIMC, Professor Naveen Gautam, Associate Professor, and Professor & Programme Director Dr Pijush Dutta also interacted with the students at the end of the session and shared their words of advice.
