Tanima Chauhan, a final-year student of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), cracked three job placements at ICICI Securities, ICICI Bank, and HDFC Life. The management student, who specialised in Finance & Marketing, aims to become a Finance Manager to oversee the financial health of an organisation. In an interview, she tells us how her AIMETC prepared her for the industry.

Edited excerpts:

How did Apeejay prepare you for job interviews?

AIMETC has a very good track record for placements, which was primarily my goal behind pursuing an MBA. The curriculum facilitated the development of my aptitude skills and other professional skills. My mentors at Apeejay taught me how to make my resume attractive and present myself during a job interview. By providing adequate exposure through numerous activities, my professors helped me overcome shyness and improve my communication skills.

How did the institute equip you for the industry?

The professors made us aware of the challenges one typically faces in the professional space and how to cope with them. They educated us about the various lucrative career opportunities in Finance and Marketing and how to hone the required skills. They also encouraged us to clear important certification exams to improve our chances of employability. In addition, we were provided with first-hand exposure through industrial visits.

Did you also take part in workshops?

I was part of the Finance Club at AIMETC, where we took part in various workshops. These helped us enhance our knowledge and at the same time shaped our personalities. Extracurricular activities at AIMETC taught us leadership skills, teamwork, time management, and other essential management skills.
