Every year on Republic Day we rededicate ourselves to building a stronger and better India. We introspect and redefine our actions that help make India-the nation of our dreams. The 74th Republic Day gave us all one such opportunity and Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park celebrated the day with utmost zeal and enthusiasm. The programme commenced with NCC cadets presenting the Guard of Honour and the consequent unfurling of the National Flag by the Principal, Mr. Sandeep Singh Kathuria.

The resplendent colours of the tricolour infused the staff and students with a deep sense of pride. Young pre-primary cherubs apprised the audience of the vibrant culture of India and superbly enacted various freedom fighters including Bhagat Singh and Rani Lakshmi Bai.

Students then recited Rabindranath Tagore’s iconic poem: ‘Where the mind is without fear’ with an ardent passion towards the nation. Truly it was a sight to behold. The school ground reverberated with patriotic fervour as ‘Swarg Se Sunder Desh Hamara’ was sung by the school choir. It was followed by a vibrant dance of primary class students on a medley of patriotic songs.

In order to commemorate the 13th National Voters’ Day, the school staff and students took a pledge to fearlessly and fairly cast their vote and uphold Indian democracy. In his address to the students, Principal, Mr Sandeep Singh Kathuria reiterated the same saying, “I urge you all dear students to aspire for excellence and become worthy citizens of the nation. Be aware of your duties and responsibilities towards the country and play your part in making India-the land of your dreams’. Principal sir also applauded the stellar achievement of students who scored above 95% in CBSE secondary board examination. In recognition of this feat, the meritorious students were awarded scholarships by the Apeejay Education Society. The assembly concluded with the mellifluous rendition of ‘Sare Jahan Se Accha‘ and the national anthem.
