Maha govt wants to vaccinate school staff before reopening: Ajit Pawar

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that the state government would immunise the school staff against COVID-19 before opening schools. “We want to make sure that when schools start all the staff, from principal to the guard, should be vaccinated with two doses of vaccine and we have made preparations according to that,” he said. The decision to not reopen the schools came as the fear of a third Covid-19 wave looms large in the state. Some schools in Maharashtra had reported a number of COVID-19 cases among students and staff members post their reopening, and thus, the state government is treading cautiously.
