‘Let’s pass it on- the gift of life’

During the interactive session at Apeejay Stya University, the expert explains the importance of Organ Donation.



National Organ Donation Day is observed every year on 27 November to spread awareness and recognise the selfless contribution made by deceased donors to healthcare and mankind.

In an effort to save more lives, National Service Scheme (NSS) and the Rotaract Club of Apeejay Stya University (ASU), Gurugram, organised an interactive session on the importance of Organ Donation. The special session witnessed the active participation of more than 70 students.

Mr. Lal Goel, Chairman of Organ Donation India Foundation and GYAN was the resource person for this interactive session.

During the session, he highlighted the need and importance of organ donation in India. He expressed, “People have many misconceptions about organ donations in India and there is a dire need to organise many more awareness sessions by the colleges and universities regarding the same.”

Further, Mr Goel congratulated the NSS and Rotaract Club of ASU for organising such an interactive session on the importance of Organ Donation, in which students asked questions about organ donation which were satisfactorily answered by the expert. 

Speaking about the importance of organ donation, Dr. Vijay Kumar, Programme Coordinator of NSS and Rotaract Club of ASU said, “Educational institutions have a great responsibility to spread awareness amongst the masses, particularly youth regarding organ donation due to lack of which thousands of people die every year.”  

Lastly, Rtr Archita Rath, President of Rotaract Club of ASU, also expressed her joy for successfully organising this insightful session for the students.
