Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram lead as top job hubs: India Skills Report 2024

In the recently-released India Skills Report 2024, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala have emerged as the prime choices for employment among the youth in the country. The report, conducted by talent assessment agency, Wheebox, in collaboration with All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Google, and Taggd, reveals that Kerala ranks as the second state with the highest number of employable resources in the 18-21 age group.

The survey, encompassing 3.88 lakh youth through a National Employability Test conducted nationwide, demonstrates a positive trend in employability in India, with 51.25 per cent of the surveyed youth possessing the requisite skills for employment.

Among the cities where both men and women exhibit equal preferences for work irrespective of age, Kochi secures the second position, while Thiruvananthapuram stands at the fourth spot nationally. Additionally, Kochi leads as the top choice for women seeking employment among the top 10 cities. Thiruvananthapuram also shines in terms of employability within the 18-21 age group, securing the third position among cities in this category.
