The JEE Mains Results for 2024 Session I were declared on February 12. Several students from Apeejay Schools across India have brought accolades to the institute. One such student is Yash from Apeejay School, Saket, who did wonders in the recently held JEE Mains Session 1 exam – he scored 99.26 percentile. The young champ has created a mark for his school and is all set to appear in the second attempt at the exam.

Advising the next batch to be thorough with the question papers, Yash talks about his preparation days and goals among other things. Read edited excerpts:

It was quite simple, to be honest. Whenever I had free time, I solved questions from the previous years’ papers. And that is the main ingredient. Solve as many question papers as you can. That is how you will get into the groove of giving exams. My hours of study were 10-12 hours a day including the time at coaching.

Physics and Math were my strong points while Chemistry was a bit weak initially. However, with persistent hard work, I became quite confident in it as well.

IIT Delhi. It is in my city and very close to my home as well. I hope I get there, I’m putting in all the effort I can. Computer Science or Electronic Engineering. I am yet to choose between the two.

The school supported me a lot. They created space and flexibility which enabled all students to focus on self-study. All our school teachers regularly solved our doubts and were there with us students at every step, whenever we needed them.

I focussed solely on NCERT for Chemistry while my coaching material for the other two subjects proved to be quite useful.

Solve as many question papers as you can! Also, solve one book completely and don’t go for too many books. Work in a dedicated and planned manner.
