It is that time of the year when one celebrates the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth reincarnation of Lord Vishnu. The festival of Janmashtmi embodies a spirit of hope, since Lord Krishna ended the despotic rule of King Kansa. It is a day of excitement and euphoria for everybody.

Janmashtami was celebrated on a virtual platform at Apeejay School, Charkhi Dadri on August 28.  The objective was to recreate the pristine bond between children and the Almighty and inculcate the values of sharing and respect among students.

Students from class Nursery to class 5 participated in the celebrations with a lot of frolic and joy. Within the students, boys were dressed as Lord Krishna while the girls wore costumes dressed as Radha. The act of impersonation was aided by the use of flutes, peacock feathers and matkas (clay-pots).

The life history of Lord Krishna was narrated beautifully with the help of informative videos as a part of the celebrations. Melodious bhajans were sung to which the students danced. They also recited devotional poems in praise of Lord Krishna.

“Every year students and teachers celebrate this festival of joy with a lot of fanfare and devotion. I wish the students understand and spread the inherent attributes of brotherhood and love through this festival. Happy Janmashtami to all!!”
