Jalandhar institute leads the way; hosts inter B-school summer internship presentation competition
The competition showcase the diverse talents and innovative ideas of MBA students from B schools across India

Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus in Jalandhar recently hosted the Inter B-School Summer Internship Presentation (SIP) Competition, a national-level event that brought together some of the finest management institutions from across the country.
The event witnessed participation from esteemed institutions like Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai; International Management Institute, New Delhi; KJ Somaiya Institute of Management, Mumbai; Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research, Mumbai; CMS Business School, Jain University, Bengaluru; Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur; Symbiosis Institute of Management, Nasik; and Jaipuria Institute of Management, Jaipur.


Expressing his enthusiasm, Dr Rajesh Bagga, Director at AIMETC, expressed, “At Apeejay Institute of Management and Engineering, we firmly believe in providing our students with a holistic educational experience. We understand that academic excellence is not just limited to classroom learning alone. It encompasses a wider spectrum that includes practical exposure, networking opportunities, and a platform to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.”
The competition showcased the diverse talents and innovative ideas of students from the above-mentioned institutions. Budding management professionals presented their summer internship projects, demonstrating how they applied their classroom knowledge to real-world business challenges. The event provided a unique opportunity for students to interact with industry experts, gain valuable feedback, and enhance their presentation skills.
Participating MBA students shared their learning experiences. Sharayu Bankar from IIM Kashipur said, “My summer internship in Hero Company gave me holistic exposure. Right from sales analytics to HR, the overall experience there was enriching. My presentation for competition included Tablue Dashboards, Standardized Audit Sheets I had prepared during my internship along with the detailed methodology followed for the same. I would like to thank organisers from Apeejay for giving me this opportunity to present my work in front of esteemed judges and organising such a flawless event.”
According to Monali Sahoo, a PGDM Rural Management student at Welingkar Institute of Management Development and Research, Mumbai, “It was commendable how the whole process was conducted, starting from screening of the PPTs to the final presentations. Also, the time keeping was maintained throughout. The way the judges were giving feedback at the end was also very helpful.” Sahoo had completed her internship with Skymet Weather Services, India’s No. 1 private forecasting company.
“A very good experience overall,” said Rakesh Dasari, a 2nd year MBA student at IIM Mumbai.

A key highlight of the Inter B-School Summer Internship Presentation Competition was the esteemed panel of judges, whose wealth of experience and knowledge played a pivotal role in shaping the course of the event. The judges for the competition were Mr. Ahsan Ul Haq and Mr. Sudhir Gera.
Mr. Ahsan Ul Haq, serving as the Director of the India Programme at Mastermind Business School, London, and a distinguished mentor for Startup Punjab, Department of Industries and Commerce, brought his extensive experience in the world of business and entrepreneurship to the judging panel. His deep understanding of the knowledge economy and innovation made him an invaluable asset to the event. Mr. Haq also shared his wisdom through a keynote address, inspiring all participants with his insights.
Subsequently, Mr. Sudhir Gera, Director of Kirloskar Gensets Ltd., brought a profound wealth of industry experience to the judging panel. His expertise added a valuable perspective to the evaluation process and provided students with valuable industry insights.

In the end, the result for the “Best Intern-2023” in Inter B-School Summer Internship Presentation Competition was declared. The first position was shared by Ms Tav Prasad Kaur from Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus, Jalandhar and Sharayu Bankar from Indian Institute of Management, Kashipur. The second position was again a tie between Mr Rakesh Dasari from Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai and Ms Monali Sahoo from Welingkar Institute of Management Development & Research.
On winning the position, Tav Prasad Kaur from AIMETC expressed, “It was an amazing learning opportunity as I got to hear from participants from top B-schools. This initiative has proven to be incredibly valuable and has added a lot of value. A big thank you to Dr. Ajwinder Dhillon and Mr. Gurpreet Singh for their constant encouragement and for organising such great initiatives for students like us.”

The cash prize for the first and second position holders was Rs 6000 and Rs 5000 respectively.
Appreciating the coordinators of the event Dr Ajwinder Dhillon and Mr. Gurpreet Singh, Assistant Professors at School of Management, AIMETC, Dr Bagga highlighted, “Apeejay’s Inter B-school SIP Competition aimed at fostering talent and innovation. This competition not only showcased the exceptional talents of young management students but also emphasised the importance of practical exposure and industry engagement in management education.”
