Jalandhar institute inaugurates Entrepreneurship Orientation Programme; aims to foster an entrepreneurial culture

StartupPunjab, under the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Punjab in collaboration with Dr. Stya Paul Centre for Excellence in Innovation, Startups, and Entrepreneurship and the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering (AIMETC) in Jalandhar  is organising a five-week “Entrepreneurship Orientation Programe.” 

The “Entrepreneurship Awareness Programe”  is a transformative five-week initiative seamlessly integrating theoretical knowledge, practical applications, and expert insights to provide participants with a holistic understanding of entrepreneurship.

The inaugural programme commenced with an insightful lecture by Dr. BP Gupta, a seasoned entrepreneur, corporate trainer, and distinguished motivational speaker. Dr. Gupta’s lecture served as the cornerstone, delving into the essence of entrepreneurship. He defined the term “entrepreneur” and expounded on the key attributes that distinguish successful entrepreneurs.

The lecture underscored the importance of self-independence, risk-taking, and innovative thinking in the entrepreneurial journey. Dr. Gupta further emphasised the role of self-awareness and cultivating a mindset that views challenges as opportunities for growth. He stressed that recognising one’s potential is a critical step toward entrepreneurship.

Innovation emerged as a central theme with Dr. Gupta highlighting the significance of identifying market gaps, envisioning unique solutions, and implementing them effectively. The session also touched upon the traits of adaptability, resilience, and continuous learning as vital components of entrepreneurial success.

Following the lecture, interactive sessions provided students with the opportunity to engage in discussions, seek clarifications, and explore entrepreneurial concepts more deeply. Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of AIMETC, extended his best wishes, sharing the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial culture within the academic community.

Mr. Salil Kaplash, the Coordinator from Startup Punjab, spearheaded the event, with faculty coordinators including Mr. Rohit Verma, Ms. Rajinder Kaur, Ms. Hardeep Kaur, Dr. Sheenu Nayyar, and Mr. Vikas Kumar. Their collective efforts ensured the success of the inaugural session.

The inaugural event concluded with gratitude extended to Dr. BP Gupta and all stakeholders. Dr. Bagga encouraged future sessions for the holistic development of students and the nurturing of their entrepreneurial spirit. The programme anticipates inspiring a new wave of entrepreneurs, contributing to the growth and development of Punjab’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
