Jalandhar colleges celebrate Founder’s Day with reverence and joy

The Apeejay family in Jalandhar commemorated the 104th birth anniversary of the beloved Founder Chairman of Apeejay Stya Group Dr. Stya Paul ji. The celebratory event, marking Founder’s Day, took place at the Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC) and Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA) in Jalandhar.

The Founder’s Day festivities at AIMETC kicked off with a soulful vandana performance, setting a tone of reverence and spiritual significance. Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of AIMETC, paid a floral tribute to the visionary Founder Chairman Dr. Stya Paul ji. Dr. Bagga reflected on Dr Paul’s enterprising spirit, strong discipline, and lifelong contributions to the Apeejay movement.

During the event, Dr. Bagga shared insights into this inspirational leader’s biography and achievements, urging students to embody qualities such as empathy, kindness, fearlessness, and a love for truth. The celebration featured captivating performances by students, including a melodious medley and a spectacular dance display. Notably, Abhiroopa, a B.Tech student, Harsh Dubey, an MBA student, and Meghdeep Kaur, an MCA student, delivered inspiring talks on the theme ‘Soaring High is My Nature’.

In a significant announcement, Dr. Bagga introduced the ‘Dr. Stya Paul Award for Human Values’, recognising outstanding contributions with a citation and a cash prize of Rs 10,000. The recipients of the award in 2023 are Harsh Dubey and Tav Parsad Kaur in the Postgraduate category for MBA, and Jasmilan Kaur and Kamalpreet Kaur in the Undergraduate category for BCA and B Tech, respectively.

The event also included a poster-making competition on ‘Human Values and Ethics’, with winners Vanshika from BBA, Poornima from BBA, Ravjeet and Sehaj from B.Com (H), and Meghdeep Kaur from MCA. The celebrations concluded with a rendition of the National Anthem, symbolising unity and pride.

Simultaneously, ACFA celebrated the 104th birth anniversary of Dr. Stya Paul ji with exuberance and enthusiasm. Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Prinicipal of ACFA, shared a heartfelt message from Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson of Apeejay Stya Group and Apeejay Svran Group, and Dr Paul’s daughter and only child. The message highlighted that Dr Stya Paul’s life has been exemplary and illuminated all those who came in contact with him.

Further, students from the Department of Music showcased their talent, reciting melodious bhajans, with Sahajdeep Singh playing tunes in Raga Pahari on sitar, accompanied by Sahil on the tabla. The event recognised the academic excellence and moral values of Gursahib Singh Thind of BA 5th semester and Rajat from B Com semester 5th, who were conferred with the coveted Dr Stya Paul Award.

In the end, Dr. Dhingra congratulated the awardees and commended Dr. Amita Mishra and Dr. Monica Anand, Professors at ACFA, for the success of the program. She encouraged students to preserve the legacy of Dr. Stya Paul ji and serve as inspirations to their peers.
