Jalandhar college organises 14th Interschool Tech Fest

Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA) recently organised the 14th Interschool Tech Fest. Conducted by the IT forum of the PG Department of Computer Science, the event was attended by students from 28 different schools in Punjab.

Around 657 students participated in the event which comprised different competitions. These included Business Idea Presentation, Gaming, Picture Captioning, Poster Presentation, Photography, and many more.

The Tech Fest was graced by distinguished guests including Major (Dr.) Irwin Kaur, Assistant Commissioner in Deputy Commissioner office in Jalandhar district,  and Dr Sucharita, Director, Apeejay Education.

Major (Dr.) Irwin Kaur appreciated the outstanding performances and talents displayed at ACFA, emphasising, “It is important to build resilience and consistently put in efforts to achieve success.”

Further, Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of ACFA, highlighted Apeejay’s commitment to holistic education, mentioning the college’s successes not only in arts but also in disciplines like Commerce, Computer Science, and Design. Dr. Sunit Kaur introduced the visiting students to the college’s achievements and facilities through a detailed presentation.

The event also featured a captivating performance by Kunal Kumar, a student of Sound Technology, with a theme titled ‘Shiv Storm.’ Winners received certificates and trophies, judged by ACFA alumni. Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, and Swami Sant Das School secured the overall championship trophy, while MGN Public School, Adarsh Nagar, and Police DAV School, Jalandhar, claimed the runner-up positions.

In the end, Dr. Roopali Sood, Head, PG Department of Computer Science as well as in-charge of the event said, “Tech fest is an annual event to provide platform to school students to showcase their talent and help them to get aware of various career options available to them  in the field of arts, design,  computer science, commerce, performing arts, multimedia, etc. The overwhelming response from schools is appreciable. We thank and expect the same in the times to come.”

Dr. Dhingra applauded the winners and appreciated the efforts of the organising team led by Dr. Roopali Sood, Dr. Jagmohan Mago, Dr. Munish Gupta, Dr. Rekha, and Ms. Pallavi for their successful coordination of the event.
