It is a ‘Green Diwali’ at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park

Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park students celebrate Diwali with cultural performances that re-acquaint one with the golden heritage of our nation

Diwali is not just the festival of lights. It is an awakening call for all to let the inner light triumph over the latent darkness inside.

Historically, the festival of Diwali celebrates the return of Shri Ram to his capital Ayodhya after an exile of fourteen years. During the last year of his exile, Shri Ram defeated the demon king Raavan and thereby restored the balance of good over evil in the world.

Since ages therefore, Diwali is celebrated by Indians as an auspicious time to reinvent the moral fiber within and follow the path of the almighty.

Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park students know the importance of Diwali and spread the light and joy around through various cultural performances.

Students of class 10 (Section A and B) conducted a special assembly on
the auspicious occasion. Neerja Kundu recited a beautiful poem reiterating the cultural significance of Diwali. A musical choir students created a beautiful festive mood among the audience with their joyful songs. Arshiya Kakkar and Atulya Maurya presented a mesmerizing dance performance and students also spread the message of celebrating a ‘Green Diwali’ through a brilliantly conceptualised skit. 

Speaking about the assembly, teacher in-charge Mrs Sumit Goomer said, “On the auspicious occasion of Deepawali, our students enthusiastically participated in organising a special assembly with sweet poetry recitation, attractive dance performances which captivated the mind of all the students in the audience and inspired them to celebrate a pollution-free Diwali.” She added, “It is our wish that the students should know and keep culture intact and help build a better world for all around”

Further on the eve of Diwali, the pre-primary students of the school enacted Sri Ram Katha and showcased their talent as they portrayed the journey of the epic characters in sync with the beautiful poetic verses. 



The audience was awestruck and their loud applause at the end of the performance conveyed their appreciation towards the dance drama. The kindergarteners further amazed the audience with their soulful rendition of the Hanuman chalisa. The performance concluded with the students describing important values given to the world through the Ramayana.
