Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC) organised a quiz competition to mark the 74th Republic Day of the nation. The students across B Tech, BCA, MCA and MBA courses participated with full enthusiasm in the event. The quiz was based on the lives of freedom fighters, eminent Indian leaders, days of national importance and the milestones achieved by Indians globally.
The quiz was designed to acquaint the students with different facets of India becoming a republic nation and to celebrate the endeavours put in by the makers of the constitution. The objective of the event was to invoke a vision of strong nation-building among the students, on the glorious occasion of Republic Day. The quiz was a huge hit as all students showcased remarkable knowledge about India, the Indian constitution, and the Republic day celebrations. They also answered all the questions about India’s freedom struggle with confidence and zeal.
Rishita, Viraj and Shubham bagged first, second and third positions respectively in the quiz. The event was conducted by the NCC wing and faculty coordinators for the event were Mr. Rohit Verma, Assistant Professor School of Information Technology, and Mr. Pahul, Assistant Professor School of Engineering.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director of AIMETC said, “As citizens of this nation, we should take pride in the fact that we are a sovereign republic, having our own Constitution and laws to govern us.” Dr. Bagga further conveyed his best wishes to the staff and students and encouraged them to work for the development of the country
The Literary & Dramatics Cell of Apeejay Institute of Management& Engineering Technical Campus also celebrated National Voters’ Day with great enthusiasm. The theme for the 13th National Voters Day was ‘Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure’. The students took a pledge that as citizens of India, they would always uphold the democratic traditions of the country, the dignity of free, fair and peaceful elections. They also pledged to vote in every election fearlessly and without being influenced by considerations of religion, race, caste, community, language.
The Director, Dr.Rajesh Bagga and the faculty members also took the voter’s pledge. Dr.Bagga mentioned, “Voting is not just our right but is also our duty. As citizens of the biggest democracy in the world, it is our responsibility to choose honest and ethical leaders. Our vote is our voice and we must make it heard. He further advised that as citizens of this nation, we should be aware of the history of our country, the best practices being followed in ancient, medieval, modern and contemporary periods in India.”
