India and Greece forge educational collaboration talks

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has taken a significant step towards bolstering international cooperation in education by initiating discussions with Greece.

The meeting, held in the national capital, saw participation from T G Sitharam, the Chairman of AICTE and Dimitrios Ioannou, the Greek Ambassador. Its focus was on identifying measures to strengthen collaborative efforts in joint research, training, twinning, and overall development between universities in India and Greece.

Also present at the meeting were Alexandros Boudouris, Deputy Chief of Mission, and Ismini Panagopoulou, the First Counsellor for Political and Cultural Affairs.

Ambassador Ioannou expressed his commitment to endorsing AICTE’s commendable intention for collaboration to the Greek Ministry of Education. Additionally, Ms. Panagopoulou pledged to facilitate connections between AICTE and relevant Greek authorities, fostering even greater synergy in education.

In a parallel initiative, Yogi Kochhar, the Honorary Commissioner Attaché and a renowned advocate of happiness, introduced the ‘YOL’ scholarship programme. This programme offers scholarships to educational institutions that adopt a happiness-focused curriculum within their learning environment.
