From interactive quizzes to hands-on experiments, young minds explore the magic of science with enthusiasm and creativity at the third day of the Science week
The Science Department of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park recently hosted an exciting Science Week celebration, bringing together young minds to explore the wonders of science through engaging activities, experiments, and quizzes. Under the theme “Science Superstars Unite,” students from different classes showcased their knowledge, curiosity, and problem-solving skills on the third day of the week-long celebration of Science.
Class 6: Masters of Scientific Expression
Class 6 students impressed the audience with their creative oral presentations on various scientific topics. Their in-depth research, confident delivery, and enthusiasm reflected their growing interest in the subject, making the event an engaging learning experience for all.
Class 4: A Battle of Scientific Wits
A thrilling science quiz tested the knowledge of Class 4 students, challenging them with questions on inventions and discoveries. The visual round added excitement as students identified legendary scientists and groundbreaking instruments. This activity not only enhanced their understanding of science but also nurtured a spirit of inquiry and curiosity.
Class 3: Young Scientists in Action
In an impressive hands-on experiment, Class 3 students successfully purified dirty water through the process of filtration using simple materials like sand, gravel, charcoal, and filter paper. The experiment helped them understand the importance of clean water and introduced them to other purification methods such as boiling, distillation, and reverse osmosis.
Exploring Chemistry Under Supervision
Safety and guidance in the Chemistry Lab were overseen by Mr. Shiv, PGT Chemistry, who ensured that students conducted experiments in a secure environment. Speaking about the students’ enthusiasm, he said, “I demonstrated the litmus paper test and introduced students to various laboratory equipment and also updated them about the necessary precautions. They were extremely curious and eager to explore science beyond textbooks.”
He further emphasised the goal of Science Week, “Through this initiative, we aimed to nurture a scientific temperament in students, and I was delighted to see that they already have inquisitive minds. They performed the experiments and noted the findings very sincerely.”
From stimulating quizzes to real-world experiments, Day 3 of the Science Week at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park was a resounding success, inspiring young learners to embrace the beauty of science with excitement and curiosity.
