You must have heard about marketing. But ever heard of affiliate marketing? Let us learn about the same through this interview from Mr. Anshul Saini, who highlights how this marketing arrangement became his area of interest. Alumnus of Apeejay Institute of Mass Communication (AIMC), he works as the Affiliate Account Manager at Clickonik Digital Media Pvt Ltd. In a quick conversation, he explains how his work requires him to be the middle ground between clients and publishers.

Your work life seems interesting! Tell us about that?

My work revolves around the client. From client reporting to client managing and finally client retention, I handle it all. I also manage the escalations that come from the client and publishers i.e. those who deliver the campaign to us. I am the middle ground between both the parties.

Is this line of work your passion?

I was introduced to the world of affiliate marketing by AIMC. Thanks to Prof Siddharth Astana’s incredible lectures at AIMC that brought out the marketing person within me. His lectures inspired me so much that I got motivated to work in this field. I am indebted to him.

So AIMC has played a huge role in your life. Tell us about those days?

To put it student lingo: We had loads of fun and learnt a lot at the same time. We all loved hanging around the campus after classes. The best part however was what we learnt in the classroom, which was very relevant to the industry.

Future aspirations?

I have some plans in the pipeline. I want to become a business development manager and work at Awin Affiliate marketing media company.

Lastly, a life lesson for the current students?

Just have fun. Don’t take career or other worldly pressures so seriously. Give things some time and have patience. Remember to enjoy your work. It is most essential to have fun while working. Soon, the results will begin to speak for themselves.
