In a candid interview with the mother of Thakur Narang, a vibrant student at present in class VI at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar she said, “I chose this school because it’s a family tradition. All our family members, from my brother-in-law onwards, have been a part of this community.” In this exclusive telephonic interview, she reflects on Thakur’s journey at the school, highlighting the supportive environment it provides, especially during challenging times like the COVID-19 pandemic and Thakur’s recent surgery. Read edited excerpts:

How has the school lived up to your expectations so far?

Apeejay School has definitely met my expectations. Thakur is passionate about sports, especially football and basketball. While he hasn’t participated in any tournaments yet, he has been actively involved in other events like dancing.

Events Thakur participates in.

Thakur was involved in dancing events at the Model Town Branch before joining Mahavir Marg last year. He’s at present, in class VI, having moved from there to here in the class V.

How is he coping with his studies?

Thakur recently underwent surgery and is at present on rest. Despite this, Apeejay School’s teachers and resources have been instrumental in ensuring he continues his studies smoothly.

Is there any pressure from the school regarding Thakur’s studies during this period?

Apeejay School has been incredibly supportive, alleviating any pressure regarding Thakur’s studies. The teachers and staff have been understanding of his situation, offering assistance whenever needed.

How has Apeejay School accommodated his health needs, especially during exams?

Thakur was scheduled to take an exam on May 9-10, 2024, but due to medical advice, he couldn’t. However, Apeejay School has assured us that the exam will be rescheduled without any stress on Thakur.
