Inaya Gaurav Bhagat, a class VII budding artist at Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar has amazed everyone once again. Already very popular for her amazing art skills at school, but this time she takes it a level higher by making an amazing bag art design. Selected as this week’s Aspiring Artist, she elaborates on the idea behind the artwork, support from her teachers and her quest for more creativity.
What inspired you to experiment with this bag art design?
As an artist, I always wanted to explore new art forms, so that curiosity took me to this new art form. I wanted to create something motivational to inspire people to fly high and achieve their dreams, so I painted this theme through my art on the bag.

How long did it take to make it? Tell us about the process.
It took me two to three hours to make it because I made some mistakes and corrected them until I was satisfied with my work. It was a really good day! I enjoyed and learnt a lot.
How is your school inspiring you?
The school provides me with so many opportunities to showcase my artwork and improve by participating in various art competitions. They also motivate me with their compliments. I am grateful for their support.
What more art forms are you experimenting with?
I’m at present, interested in oil painting. I want to try my hand at it and learn a new technique.
What role does social media play in your art?
I watch many art videos for inspiration and ideas. It helps me broaden my perspective, though I am not active on any social media platform.

This is eco-friendly art. What is your message behind it?
The message behind my artwork is to fly high and achieve your dreams, even if you’re at a disadvantage. Although it is a simple tote bag, I wanted to convey that even a tote bag can be a fashion statement. There is no need to purchase expensive leather bags when simple canvas bags are much better and don’t harm the environment.
