When this family shifted their base from Delhi to Greater Noida last year, the biggest discussion centred on schooling for their son. In Delhi, he was studying in one of the most reputed schools, so they visited many schools in Greater Noida, including Apeejay School, Greater Noida. They interacted with the teachers and looked at the infrastructure, the building, and also the class strength they had.

“When we met the Principal and teachers at Apeejay School, we felt that this school could provide one-on-one interaction with the teachers and a better environment. It was a unanimous decision for us that this might be a better option for our son,” Gaurav Kaushik, whose son, Vihaan is now in Class II, shared.

Since joining the school, what has been the most heartwarming change you have seen in Vihaan?

The most heartwarming change I have seen is how my son is expressing himself. His reading and confidence have improved a bit. The curiosity to ask questions was already there, and now it has been given wings. He is always asking why and how. He is non-stop asking questions, and his curiosity is increasing. I have also seen a slight change in his compassion towards others.

Is there any activity or classroom experience that your son talks about often at home?

The most enjoyable activity, or the one he loves to talk about the most, is skating. He just goes on about skating, which happens in the school. He loves to show off the moves he has learned there. He moves around and shows off his skills.

Has the school helped him become more comfortable on stage?

When I first saw him on stage in school, initially, when he was in Class I, there was a slight stage fright and hesitation that I could see. With the support and encouragement of his teachers, he became more comfortable.

Role have the teachers and school environment played in making your son comfortable.

Teachers are the best guides the kids can have. They teach the children discipline, empathy, social interaction, and also a duty of care. I would say the teachers were the light that helped my child grow. They set down the moral values of the school. The environment here makes a child feel included and supported, and that has been guided by the teachers.

Is there any moment that made you feel proud of your son since he joined the school?

I am proud of him every day. He interacts with everybody. He is a very extroverted child. When I go to collect him from school, or even when my wife goes, everyone from Classes I to XII knows him. Even the teachers know who Vihaan is. This makes us feel proud.
