Understanding health at a young age is essential for building lifelong well-being. With this objective in mind, Apeejay School, Saket, organised an informative and impactful workshop to mark World Anaemia Awareness Day, sensitising students to the importance of proper nutrition and preventive healthcare.
The session was conducted by a distinguished panel of renowned paediatricians, Dr SK Sehgal, Dr Ashok Chakraborty, Dr Anamika Dubey, and Dr Vandana Singh, esteemed members of the Academy of Paediatrics, South Delhi, and associated with reputed hospitals. Their expertise and practical insights added great value to the learning experience.
Addressing the students, the doctors explained the concept of anaemia, its causes, symptoms, and long-term effects on growth and overall health. They emphasised the vital role of iron-rich foods in maintaining healthy haemoglobin levels and preventing fatigue, weakness, and reduced immunity. Through engaging discussions and relatable examples, students learned how simple dietary choices like green leafy vegetables, pulses, jaggery, fruits, and nuts can significantly improve their health.

The workshop was highly interactive, encouraging students to ask questions and clarify doubts. The experts also debunked common diet myths and highlighted the importance of balanced meals, regular check-ups, and healthy lifestyle habits. Visual aids and real-life case studies made the session both informative and easy to understand.
The initiative proved to be enlightening and meaningful, equipping students with essential knowledge about self-care and nutrition. By fostering awareness early on, the school continues to nurture responsible, health-conscious individuals.
Overall, it served as a valuable step towards promoting wellness and empowering students to make healthier choices for a brighter future.
