Gujarat, Maharashtra, MP, Goa, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand Cancel Board Exams

Taking a cue from Centre Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Rajasthan and Uttarakhand have decided to cancel the state board exams this year. “The state government decided to scrap the exams for class 12 of the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Board (GSHSB) after taking into consideration the Centre’s decision to scrap the exams for class 12 students of the CBSE given the coronavirus pandemic,” state Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama told reporters. Goa CM Pramod Sawant tweeted on Wednesday: “After extensive consultations, it has been decided that the Class 12 exams shall be cancelled, as the health & safety of our students is of utmost priority…”  A few other states said they will take a call soon. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday announced the cancellation of class 12 board exams after an extensive consultative process.
