Apeejay International School, Greater Noida celebrated Grandparents’ Day to show appreciation and love to the elderly. Called ‘VARDAAN’, the event was specially organised for the grandparents of Apeejay students.

The day began with welcoming grandparents and lighting the auspicious lamp. Little ones from classes nursery and KG performed a welcome dance for all the guests.

The school’s principal Dr Sarita Pande took to the stage and talked about the role of grandparents in a child’s life and how they act as a constant source of enlightenment and inculcate important values.

For the entertainment of the special guests, the school organised some fun games too like Roll the Ball, Choose a City, and Paper Balloon Race. All the guests actively took part in these activities and felt overjoyed and refreshed.

The students of classes I and II presented a melodious welcome song, expressing their happiness on their grandparent’s arrival at their school. To make the occasion even more special, the grandparents were taken on a walk down memory lane through a pictorial tribute to their memorable days. The lovely grandparents also walked the ramp and posed like models.

Following the performances was an impromptu dance session where all the guests grooved, had lots of fun, and clicked pictures with their grandkids. Some of them even sang bhajans.

In the final segment, the grandparents were invited to take part in an artistic activity. They were divided into five groups and were asked to decorate a ‘matki’ or a pot. It was wonderful to see how they adorned the pots beautifully.

Towards the end of the programme, prizes for the games were also distributed. The guests expressed heartfelt gratitude and appreciation towards the school for organising the event. It was truly a special day for all.

The programme ended with a formal vote of thanks for the entire team of students, teachers, principal, and the helping staff.

At last, the grandparents were also invited to inaugurate the new swings in the play area, and were given saplings as a token of gratitude.
