Apeejay School, Model Town pays rich tribute to Shrimati Rajeshwari Paul on her 101st birth anniversary
On July 8, 2025, Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, came together to honour the memory of Shrimati Rajeshwari Paul on her 101st birth anniversary. The event was not just a formal gathering but a heartfelt expression of gratitude and respect for the first lady of Apeejay Education. Smt Rajeshwari Paul was the wife of Apeejay Education’s Founder-Chairman, Dr Stya Paul, and the mother of Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman of Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman of Apeejay Education. Known for her grace, wisdom, and deep appreciation of the arts, the legacy of Smt Rajeshwari Paul continues to guide the values and vision of the institute.
Ceremony steeped in tradition
The tribute began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. It was followed by floral offerings, setting a quiet, respectful tone for the morning. Students then performed a series of devotional bhajans that created a calm and reflective atmosphere in the school hall.
One of the highlights was a Kathak recital by students, delivered with precision and grace. This classical dance, rooted in Indian tradition, was a fitting reflection of the cultural legacy Smt Rajeshwari Paul supported throughout her life. A vibrant group dance followed, capturing the spirit of unity and celebration.
Message that moved hearts
The Principal, Dr Rajesh Kumar Chandel, addressed the gathering and shared a special message from Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia. The message recalled the dignity, strength, and elegance with which Smt Rajeshwari Paul lived her life. It also reflected on her compassion, love for education, and unwavering belief in nurturing young minds.
The tribute didn’t end with music and words. The school also organised an art exhibition featuring the work of students across grades. It was a creative and meaningful way to honour a woman who deeply valued artistic expression.
