The Union government will spend Rs 3 lakh crore over the next five years under the New Education Policy (NEP) to give a new lease of life to the education system, BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri said. “Under the New Education Policy 2.0 of the central government, a whopping Rs 3 lakh crore will be spent on education expansion. Under this, children under three years will be registered for admission in both government and private schools,” Bidhuri said in a statement. Recently, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said that NEP aims at making India a global knowledge superpower. “Our education was practical, wholesome, and complementary to life. In fact, education was seen as a continuous process of learning. The New Education Policy is underpinned by the same vision. It aims at making India a global knowledge super-power and seeks to bring a paradigm shift in the entire education system,” Naidu said.
