‘Friend on Mars’: Story by Shounak Sikdar, Apeejay School, Noida 

One day I wrote an email to Space X for a mission on Mars. After waiting 5-6 days, I got a reply from them. First, they asked some questions and then they told me to reach the USA for training. After hearing the news, I ran to pack my bag and took a flight to the US.
After spending 6-7 months, the day has finally come, Now I have to just sit on the spacecraft with three others. I am too excited and curious about the planet. While thinking about Mars, suddenly the spacecraft picked the pace and started moving towards the planet. Even though it was scary, I was
continuously watching the beauty of our solar system from the spacecraft.
When we reached Mars, our crew had to wear the space suit for researching the planet. At night, I got separated from my crew. After walking for hours on end, I finally could see some light at some distance and on getting closer I found some living creatures who looked similar to humans. 

One of them came closer to me and asked, “Who are you? Are you coming from Earth?” I said, “Yes” and continued “Actually, I have lost my way and got separated from my crew”. 

On hearing my story, the aliens felt sad and promised me, “We will take care of you and help you to reunite with your crew members but before that you must promise that you will not reveal our secret or we will kill you.”
For three days I was living in their house and on the fourth day I was able to meet my crew. They were totally surprised to see me suddenly and they started asking me questions but I said that everything was fine without revealing the secret encounter with aliens. It was the 26th day on Mars and the last
day too. The Spacecraft was launched to fly out of Mars and while passing the planet I noticed that light once again.
