It is very rightly said that before you become a leader, success is all about growing yourself. However, once you become a leader, success is all about growing others.

Apeejay School, Rama Mandi in Jalandhar believes in this quote whole-heartedly and even considers this a pillar of value when it comes to character building. The school recently organised the student investiture ceremony to empower, enable and encourage the new generation to find the worthiness within.

With the blessings of Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Co-Promoter and President of Apeejay Stya and Svran Group, Chairperson, Apeejay Education, and Chancellor Apeejay Stya University, and under the able guidance of Mr AK Sharma, Principal of the school, the event proved to be a big confidence booster for the young students.

The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by a melodious Saraswati Vandana and the ever inspiring school anthem sung by the school choir. A formal welcome was accorded to the newly elected school council by house coordinator Ms Priya Rana. The newly appointed council members marched to the thunderous beats of the school band, with their heads held high.

Students Raghav Gupta was elected as the head boy and Sukhmandeep Kaur Mattu was appointed as the head girl for the current academic session. Diljot Singh was appointed the deputy head boy while Mehakpreet Kaur the deputy head girl. Students also were elected for the positions of sports captain, prefects and house captains.

The pinning of badges was followed by the flag ceremony as the school flag and the house flags were hoisted high. An oath was administered to the newly appointed student council by Principal Mr. AK Sharma.

Mr. Sharma congratulated the new council and urged them to strive hard and continue on the path of righteousness, hard work and selfless service. He mentioned, “This responsibility is not just an honour but also an opportunity to forge one’s character through sheer discipline and merit.” He requested the students to always remember and respect the dignity of the school before performing any task and assured them that he believed in their judgement and abilities.

The Class Representatives also received badges on this occasion. The newly appointed head boy and head girl promised a definite change for the better tomorrow with great conviction in their confident speeches.

The whole stage lit up with vibrant colours of different house flags and the event reinstated faith in the caliber and leadership of the future generations. Lastly, Vice Principal Mrs Aarti Shorey Bhat proposed the Vote of Thanks and wished for the smooth functioning of the investiture ceremony. The event concluded with the National Anthem as the eyes of the new leaders glistened with promise.
