Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC), Jalandhar, organised a quiz on finance-related facts and concepts for its students recently. Titled ‘FinQuiz 2023’, the event was held in line with Apeejay’s mission to boost students’ knowledge through fun and interactive activities.

While there were ample entries, four top teams were selected after the preliminary round: Rocking Financers, Finance Fighters, Finance Marvels, and Finance Rangers.

The competition covered a range of topics related to Finance including basic accounting concepts, bank name abbreviations, banking logos, taglines, famous personalities in the field, facts about Indian economy, taxation, and stock market.

The event was a great opportunity for all to test financial literacy and learn about the ongoing financial changes in the market. Students actively participated in the quiz and won many prizes too.

Finance Rangers — Namit Jain, Dhawal Jain, and Paramvir Singh from BBA semester VI — won the first prize. The second prize was bagged by Finance Marvels — Shweta Kumari, Jagroop Kaur, and Tamanna from MBA semester II while Finance Fighters, which had MBA semester II students Parthvi, Mamta and Harsh from MBA semester II won the third prize.

The quiz was organised by AIMETC’s Finance Club. Dr Anu Sahi, convener, Finance Club, AIMETC, and Hardeep Kaur, faculty coordinator, Finance Club, AIMETC, appreciated all the student coordinators for working hard to put together a wonderful event. They also congratulated all the participants.

Dr Rajesh Bagga, director, AIMETC, also applauded all the students and faculty. He encouraged them to continue participating in extracurricular activities.

The Finance Club frequently organises similar events for students at AIMETC. In the same month, they organised a finance-based role play competition called ‘FinCase-Ace the Case’ in which students were asked to role play a case study — that covered topics ranging from finance to human resources–provided to them.

Besides, the club conducted a two-day workshop on financial literacy for final year students of BCom, BBA and MBA, in collaboration with the National Institute of Securities Market. The session covered various topics around investment, from the right age to start to ways to deal in the securities market.

AIMETC’s Finance Club fosters continuous learning and discovery of new trends in investment banking, corporate finance, and personal finance. It motivates and sparks students’ interest in the subject through innovative activities and finance-related certifications.
